Damien Koh PFCI, AIFD, CFD
Damien is an internationally acclaimed floral artist who is highly sort after for demonstration and lecture. Damien was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in 1996. He was also inducted into Professional Floral Communicators International (PFCI) in September 2005, making him the first Chinese to make it to the prestigious organization with only slightly more then 100 members worldwide.
What use to be his hobby has blossomed into a professional career. He holds diplomas in European Floral Art and Modern Floral Design and is a Professor of Ikenobo Ikebana Floral Art. A founding member of Floral Designers Society Singapore; Damien has served as Program Chairman, Publicity and Marketing Chairman and President.
Damien has toured more 40 cities in Canada, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan,Mexico, Thailand, Germany, France, UK, The Netherlandsand USA as demonstrator, lecturer, exhibitor, commentator, judge, translator, display artist, consultant and/or designer. Highlights include his 2004 wildly successful program presented in New York during AIFD National Symposium which is the Oscar/Emmy of floristry. That was followed by an invitation in 2005 by AIFD Foundation to conduct a first ever hands-on workshop for the Foundation in Seattle.
In 2001, Damien was conferred the title of Guest Professor by Beijing Vocational Middle School. He has been interviewed and featured in trade Magazines, Life style Magazines such as Flowers& of USA, Florists of Japan,Flower Shop of Japan, Flower Today of Korea, Her World Brides of Singapore, Home and Deco of Singapore etc. Other media exposures include newspapers, T.V. and Radio programs locally and internationally.
2008, He was appointed as floral consultant for the Beijing Olympics
2010 was invited by International publishing house to publish his book “ Damien Koh monograph”
2012, invied by Tsing Hua University as lecturer
2013 invited on a teaching tour in New Zealand.
2015 was included in world’s most influential florist in the world.
2016 till present, continues with all fields of work related to floristry. Design, demonstrate, host, lecture, video, commentate.
Damien owns Fleur Connection --- a florist studio and floral design school in Singapore; co-partner Fleur Connection in Macau and is the Principal of Pui Wa Floral Design School in Beijing. On top of these commitments, he is a consultant to several florists and wholesalers in various countries.
Other than memberships with AIFD and PFCI, Damien is also a member of Ikenobo Ikebana Society, Singapore Chapter, Floral Designers Society Singapore and Society of American Florists.
